Cowbella Butter From Grass Fed Cows - SALTED 8 oz

$7.99

17 left

Our cows are our family, and family is at the heart of everything we do on our over 200 year old Danforth Jersey Farm. It’s been in our family for 7 generations, and we milk a small herd of 40 Jerseys with names like Godiva, Juniper, and Firework. They are the stars in our Milky Way and they live a life of love on grass, sunshine, and fresh air, grazing 70 wide open acres of our Catskills pastures.  We shelter our herd in our warm tie stall barn in inclement weather and we make feed for them when the pasture cannot of dry or fermented hay that we harvest from our own fields. We ensure all their needs are met with supplemental grain, and we turn their milk into our Cowbella butter at our farmstead creamery.

Our buttermaking roots run deep on our farm. Martha Danforth was in our 2nd generation and the only other woman to take the reins after her husband's sudden passing. She kept the farm alive by making butter with her 5 daughters and only son, Everett. Martha and her oldest daughter Hattie sent their butter to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and won awards of excellence that hang proudly in our farmhouse kitchen to this day.  We were also inspired by Martha and we built our Cowbella Creamery on the farm in 2010 to keep her butter legacy going strong and to keep our history alive for hopefully many generations to come. Experience the magic of grazing Jersey milk, and taste the love we put into everything we do. We make feel good food for your stomach and your soul, from our cows on our farm by our family to yours.
