I’m Danielle Lutsky - creator of a line of organic-ingredient, locally sourced veggie burgers that are a good source of protein and fiber, and are so delicious you want to eat them every day. Free from dairy, soy, gluten, starch binders, gums, preservatives and refined inflammatory oils.
I always ate a mainly vegetarian diet by nature; I never had the fear of making a completely vegetarian meal taste amazing. In 2013, upon the illness of my beloved mother-in-law, Cheryl,* I really leaned into food as medicine. Traditional treatment wasn’t an option due to Cheryl’s underlying MS, so I took leave from my job and began to make healing, plant-based soups and meals for her. It was incredible to see the healing occur within Cheryl - not only because of the food itself, but by her experience of being cared for in this pure and nourishing way. (The meals were mostly delicious, but we also laughed about some epic fails along the way.)
Fast forward to 2019, my husband Jordan, an athlete and avid competitor, wanted to experience the plant-based way of eating as well. His goal was to reduce inflammation so that he could train harder despite getting older. What he and I found was that all… and I mean ALL of the convenient plant-based proteins on the market were loaded with fillers that would have an inflammatory effect (oils, gums) and barely resembled their intent.
Plantidote’s Original Recipe was born in that year: a perfectly textured veggie burger that is so satisfying, and stays together on your plate without weird binders. Red lentil-based makes it so versatile, and cooked with the fresh vegetable juices from its saute with sea salt and kombu make it incredibly delicious. I can basically guarantee you’ll feel as nourished by these patties as I make sure my family feels.
Also available in Golden Curry and Sesame Ginger.
*No coincidences, Danielle unloaded her first order with Hudson Milk in 2023 on Cheryl’s birthday!
