Sabzi means vegetable. Mix and match your favorite vegetables in this dish to create a new taste and flavors every time you make it!
We've suggested an initial mix of veggies - go ahead and try a different combination next time! Many different combinations and flexibility make this a favorite in Indian homes. More tomatoes and water give you more gravy.
Serve with a hot pita, naan, or whole wheat wrap.
Also try with Yellow Tadka Daal (spice pack available). Yogurt can help cool off the heat.
Package ingredients: Organic spices (Cumin, Coriander, Chili powder, Turmeric)
What you need to make this recipe:
1 medium green pepper
1 medium carrot
½ medium cauliflower
1 cup peas
(Substitute any of the above with frozen vegetables)
1 medium onion
1½ medium tomatoes
1-2 tablespoons oil (not olive)
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)
I come from a long line of foodies – we talk about food all the time! Inspired by my mother’s traditional recipes, I am passionate about cooking and love introducing delicious Indian vegetable dishes to friends. It is, most likely, the original plant-based cuisine!
When my daughter went away to college, she missed Indian cooking, but didn’t want to have to buy spices she wouldn’t use often. So I started giving her little spice packs and instructions for specific dishes. Before I knew it, word spread and I had requests from her friends and even mine. And that was the spark of a business idea.
I spent my career in the technology world. Beyond my passion for food, I am committed to creating access to early technology education for students with limited resources. It levels the playing field and it is my personal mission to support programs equipping these children for the digital economy of the future. A majority of our profits will go to supporting educational initiatives for underserved students.
Masala Mystique brings it all together, by helping you succeed in cooking delicious Indian food, without buying a hundred confusing spices, only to use one spoonful. We’ve taken my mother’s traditional recipes, made them easy to follow, and given you just the right mix and amount of spices to create delicious dishes at home. And, you're helping underserved students to prepare for their digital futures with each tasty bite.
