Premium, quality aged balsamic vinegar with an infusion of fig. Delightful!

A superior premium quality aged balsamic vinegar, infused with Fig. Sweet with a very light pungency and an extremely thick consistency. Tasting notes of raisins, plum, and some smoothness from oak barrels. 

The Kontoulis balsamic vinegars are from Modena, Italy and are at least 12 years aged. The balsamics are all natural and the ingredients are cooked grape must, wine vinegar and naturally occurring sulphites.

Pairs well with any fine chees or fruit. Perfect for salad dressings and marinades. Use as a finishing for salads, filet mignon, seafood dishes, grilled veggies, desserts, vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, gelato, and many, many more. Even delicious in drinks and seltzer!

Agape Premium is the new look and name for what was formerly Kontoulis Family Olive Oil and Mr. B.'s Balsamic Vinegars. Tamara has taken the reigns from Demetra and Tom, and we wish them all the best in their retirement!

Some of you found Hudson Milk at the Muscoot Farmer's Market. We found the Kontoulis Family there as well. For years, our "booth" was next to the Kontoulis "booth" at Muscoot. With shared values and an amazing product, it was inevitable that the Kontoulis Family Olive Oil would become a part of the Hudson Milk offering.

The Kontoulis family came to the United States in 1969. Demetra now lives in Larchmont, New York, and along with other family members, travels to her native village of Strefi annually. In the fertile plain of Messinia, Greece, she tends to the family's small olive groves. This area has a long tradition of producing high quality olive oil. The olive groves were planted by Demetra's grandfather and continue to be cultivated in a natural and traditional method. Same product, from the same olive groves, made using the same process.....just a new look and name!

For years Demetra supplied olive oil from her family's trees to friends and family members in the United States. Encouraged by their enthusiastic response to the superb taste and quality of her oil, she became a part-time olive grove farmer and oil producer. Today, Demetra and her family return to Greece for the annual olive harvest and actively participate in the selection of the olives and the production of the oil. 

After harvesting the olives, they are delivered to the oil mill in the family's native village. The olives are cold pressed within 24 - 48 hours of harvesting. The oil is produced only from the first pressing of the olives and is unfiltered. Olive oil is unique in that it can be consumed without refinement, which preserves its vitamins and essential acids and nutrients. The family is present for every step of the production process to ensure that their olive oil is of the highest quality, with an acidity level ranging from 0.2% to 0.3%.
