If New England and Texas ever got together to make the ultimate pecan pie, we like to think it would taste a lot like our Maple Cinnamon Peanut & Pecan Butter, which is handmade with High Oleic Runner peanuts, Organic Texas pecans, Organic Vermont maple syrup, cinnamon, and hand-harvested Jacobsen sea salt. This uncommonly delicious, warmly spiced nut butter allows each marquee ingredient to sing in beautiful harmony with the small-batch roasted peanuts and pecans. A favorite with kids and adults alike, Maple Cinnamon is amazing on toast, stirred into oatmeal, and spread thickly on fresh apple slices.
Grown in the high plains of Cordoba, Argentina, our High Oleic Runner peanuts are 30% higher in heart-healthy fats than other peanuts and are great sources of protein, iron, calcium, magnesium, and the antioxidant resveratrol. These Cordoban peanuts are also grown in naturally rich soil without fertilizers, irrigation, or pesticides.
Sourced from a single family-owned orchard in South Texas, our Organic pecans represent the sweet, buttery standard of the South’s favorite nut. In addition to being pure comfort food, pecans contain unsaturated fats that can help lower blood cholesterol, fiber to promote good gut health, and vitamins and minerals proven to help lower blood sugar levels and promote brain function.
Our cinnamon is the world’s finest, sustainably grown in the ideal ecosystem of the Mount Kerinci region of the tropical island of Sumatra, Indonesia. Here, Cassia trees are sustainably harvested and carefully sorted for quality, resulting in a vibrant, distinctive cinnamon that pops in every spoonful. Among many other health benefits, cinnamon is rich in antioxidants and has been shown to reduce inflammation, improve insulin sensitivity, reduce blood pressure, and aid in digestion.

OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD A HEALTHIER RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR PLANET THROUGH DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS FOODS MADE WITHOUT COMPROMISE.
We believe that food matters. It should be good for the people who eat it, good for the people who grow it, and good for the planet.
Mark and Megan Overbay have long been passionate about making delicious food centered around culinary craft, integrity, and sustainability. The inspiration for doing so through nut butter originated from Mark’s experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zimbabwe, where he missed his favorite food – peanut butter – and decided to make his own. By hand crushing locally grown peanuts and mixing in salt, honey and coconut oil, he made one of the best things he’d ever tasted. Back in Durham, North Carolina, he and his wife, Megan, who had already built a local following for her homemade energy bars, wanted to share that small-batch, handcrafted approach to food with others, and by doing so, build a business based on culinary craft, integrity, and sustainability. Big Spoon Roasters launched their lines of small-batch, handmade nut butters and snack bars in January 2011.
