Maine Homestead began in 2011 with a bag of cucumbers from the founder’s grandfather’s garden, leading to the creation of homemade Bread & Butter pickles. This sparked a passion for preserving fresh ingredients, and by 2012, the founder had secured a commercial food producer’s license and launched the business. With the support of family, including offering space for a commercial kitchen, Maine Homestead quickly grew from farmers markets to a retail store in Lyman, Maine, in 2017, offering not only homemade products but also Maine-made goods.

By 2018, the business expanded further with a renovated kitchen to increase production. Today, Maine Homestead employs 15 people, with its best-selling Maine Wild Blueberry Jam available in over 850 stores across the U.S. Despite its growth, the company remains committed to crafting high-quality, small-batch products using traditional methods, celebrating the flavors and community of Maine.
